Lesson from ATTRACT Trial and the Role of Pharmacomechanical Thrombectomy

Abstract
|

|
The ATTRACT trial was a multicenter, randomized, controlled trial comparing anticoagulation with percutaneous catheter-directed thrombolysis (PCDT) in acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This study was conducted at 56 hospitals in the United States and the final results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine on December 7, 2017. The data generated by the ATTRACT trial will allow the patient or medical staff to make better choices about the benefits and risks of invasive treatment in acute DVT treatment approach and many physicians will be able to reassess their existing therapeutic approach.
